It's The Great Pumpkin!!!

This was such a fun weekend. I am not sure who had more fun, Mike and I or Miles?? I have always loved this time of year. I love the beautiful leaves, the crispness in the air and PUMPKINS!!! Yes I LOVE pumpkins. I wanted to take our lil punkin to the pumpkin patch to pick out that "special one". Not too short or tall, not too fat or skinny but it must have character and that special little something!! I love a curly longish stem and the particular one we chose just screamed "Take Me Home!!"

We will carve him probably Thursday night because if we peak too soon his face will be shriveled and need botox by Halloween and we can't have that now can we!! We have been calling every pumpkin we see boo hoo so Miles goes around pointing and saying "Boo" which is hilarious. They had a petting zoo, pig races and scarecrow stuffing. We also took a train ride. The only unfortunate moment was when Miles tried to ride a pumpkin like a horse and got bucked off.

And what about those Missouri Tigers beating Oklahoma???? It was a sweet night. We ended the weekend with my brother taking our first family photos at Wallace State Park. It was gorgeous out there and a great place to picnic and hike. The dog and Miles were much more interested in the leaves and running wild than any silly family picture. We may not be doing the rockafeller christmas card this year!!! Oh well-I still have the prettiest pumpkin on the block. Charlie Brown and Linus would be proud!!

Hi Ho Hi Ho-It's Off To Work I Go!!!

This was my first week back at work and it was bittersweet. I only cried after I got to work and everyone started asking me how I was doing!!!! I missed all my co-workers and was glad to see them and have adult conversation but on the flip side I of course missed my sweet baby boy!!! I only work four days and I get a three day weekend every week so that definately helps. They had the office all decorated and my desk had balloons on it and a framed picture of Miles and a beautiful photo album Hill Shoemaker put together. Miles was also up as my screensaver photo. Working with great folks makes it much easier. Miles is changing so much every week. He seems to have gotten taller and is filling out. He is getting more vocal and learning more words. We read his list of Korean words every morning at breakfast and then practice the English words that match them. He wakes up in a good mood and is ready to take on the world immediately after waking. Not much morning cuddle time in bed for Miles!! He has people to see and things to do!!! Hope you all have a great week. Hello to our Korean family!!! We love blogging with you and seeing all the pictures and videos. Miles enjoys watching the kids and sister riding her bike!!

Friends Are The Flowers In The Garden Of Life!!

And More...

That's What Friends Are For

More of my buds!!!

I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

What more can I say except friends are the chocolate chips in the cookie of life. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful, diverse group of friends. Some I have known for many years and some I have known for a much shorter time. I feel like I go through seasons in my life and God always puts just the right people at just the right time in front of me. I have a great group of ladies I work with and a different group I go to church with. I have my Bunco group and I have my neighbors. I have my sisters friends who I consider my friends and I have those friends who I don't see but maybe once or twice a year but when we pick up the phone we pick up right where we left off. I also have my old friends who know the good, the bad and the ugly sides of me and I could call at 3:00 A.M. in crisis mode and they would come to my rescue. They are like that favorite pair of old jeans that you can always count on and you can never find another brand or style like them because they don't make them anymore. I love my friends and each one holds a special, different place in my heart. My dad always said if you have one good friend you can count on you are a lucky person so boy am I one lucky girl!!

Mama's Favorite Things and Winston's New Ride!!

I stayed in bed an extra long time this morning enjoying the snuggle time with Miles. I love to just watch him sleep and kiss his soft, chubby cheeks. Melts my heart. I also love taking him for rides with furry brother in the wagon Grandma and Grandpa Trussell brought up for him. I also LOVE bare baby and toddler feet. I love how soft and perfect they are. No callouses or cracked heels to deal with-just a clean slate. I am in awe that his little feet have already traveled further than many feet will travel in a lifetime. Those little feet spent many hours playing on his favorite playground in Korea and now they are logging many hours at the park here. I wonder where those feet will take him in the future? His feet are definately flip-flop worthy. They are some pretty feet. I must admit I am a little obsessive about feet. I am weird I know but I find myself looking at people's feet and studying them. I admire a nice paint job and a set of pretty heels!! I think this is why I had a melt-down a couple of weeks ago when my pedi had gone south!! HAHA Hope everyone has a good day!!

These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things

Miles' most recent top picks for favorite pastimes are as follows:

1)Dressing up in helmets and caps. So far he has a viking hat with horns, a wizard cap and a roman soldier. The roman soldier is his fav this week.

2)He loves to spend time with family. Uncle Toby, Christian and Aunt C.C. came up this weekend to visit and he had a ball. He has quickly won Uncle Toby's heart.

3)Sneaking into the frig is soooooo fun. Sometimes he just opens the door and sits on the bottom shelf but lots of times he likes to clean out the door.

4)Spending time with daddy is great. They go on Walmart runs and just cruise around town. This give me a break and lets me get psyched up for round two!!!

5)Riding the four wheeler was a great treat and feeling like he was king of the world- oh wait he feels like that every day.

Miles has been with us one month and we love him soooo much! We are so grateful he is our son and we feel very blessed. It is hard to believe how much your life and priorities can change in one month but ours certainly have. Hope everyone had a great weekend.
